EYE EXAMINATIONS

Our comprehensive vision and eye health examinations consist of numerous tests that evaluate:

  • Eye muscle balance, eye tracking and coordination, peripheral vision, depth perception, and color vision

  • Glasses (refraction), keratometry (curvature of the eye)

  • Eye diseases such as corneal dystrophies, cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and signs of many systemic diseases that show up in the eye such as diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol among many others

We're excited to also offer Optomap - an examination of the retina (back of the eyes) without the need of dilation in most instances!  Many of our patients choose Optomap which captures digital images of up to approximately 85% of the retina that we keep in your permanent eye medical record.  We then use your prior Optomap photos taken in our office to compare to photos taken at the time of your exam to look for and detect any small changes that may have occured in the back of the eye.  This allows our doctors to effectively detect and properly manage subtle retinal changes that may be due to any number of systemic diseases that are seen in the eye, as well as diseases that are eye-specific.

We recommend and follow the standard of care that everyone should have an eye examination on a yearly basis.  Our eyes and vision are precious, and yearly exams are the best way to keep them at their optimal health and visual acuity.
