Dr. Donnie Koonce

Dr. Donnie Koonce is a second-generation optometrist from Charlotte, NC. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and his Master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences from Wake Forest University. Dr. Koonce received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern College of Optometry in 2024 where he graduated with honors. He completed a residency in Ocular Disease and Primary care at the W.G (Bill) Hefner Salisbury VA Medical Center in Salisbury, NC.

Dr. Koonce enjoys watching basketball, playing piano, attending Charlotte 49er sporting events, and trying local restaurants in his free time. He is excited to join University Eye Associates and to serve the community he grew up in.
